About Us

This site is provided to help in the education of our membership and to reach out to future members on the benefits associated with the Iron Workers Union.  Local 759 is centered on providing the highest standard of safety and apprenticeship training for our members as well as providing our signatory contractor base with a safer and more skilled workforce.

Local 759 has a small, but growing membership of skilled tradesmen and women. We have built some of the most prestigious structures in Northwestern Ontario, including the Nipigon River Bridge, the Thunder Bay Courthouse and the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.  We also build and maintain many open pit and underground mines, mills and the Hydro Electric Power Generation Plants in our jurisdiction.  These jobs require an array of skill sets, including Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Ironworkers, Architectural and Residential Ironworkers, Riggers, Welders, Supervision and Maintenance personnel.
